I own one of the first few copies printed which I bought at a used record store in Eugene Oregon, back in the early 1980s. The sound quality is pretty good and the songs them selves range from ok to fantastic. I was able to discuss the recording with one of the people who played on it, having met him through mutual friends. I was told that after playing the recording for their families that the room was full on stunned silence....this may best describe many reactions to hearing this album. It has sounds that are bombastic, repetitious and intense. I always said that in my opinion the music was YEARS ahead of itīs time. The first time I heard it play at the used record store I raced to the front and told the guy to bag it as it was mine. He asked to let it finish playing which I did, then I hopped the bus home and put it on the turntable. I would say the words Intense, dreamy and loud all sum up the audio qualities. Quirky and mysterious best describe the song writing. My biggest question is why this band never continued with many more efforts and where are they now? (Yes I emailed them with zero response, perhaps the Fame and Fortune went to their heads? = ) The energy is the amazing part of this album, I will never sell my copy unless I was offered a small fortune and I mean Gold, it has been in my collection for a long , long time.

I own this LP and it is one of my favorites to listen too. Even today! Way ahead of its time and bound to be sought after for years and years to come.

As one-half of the Parasites of the Western World I wanted to thank you for the great reviews and answer Chrisīs question about the recording of the first album. Yes, it was recorded at home (in an apartment!) using a TEAC 4 track?lots of track bouncing. Also had to choose our time for recording the loudest tracks carefully to avoid noise complaints. A note about Accessories, the laughter at the end of the track is from an interview of John Lennon by Tom Snyder. They are laughing about Snyder suggesting that the female fans liked Paul more than they liked John. Cheerio.

this is one of my favorite albums ever! music ranging from chrome-like spacerock to synthesizer-soundscapes mostly sounding like it was recorded at home ( was it ? ) which only seems to add to the alienating atmosphere. favorite track:ī accessories'.
