Ah Ha... well look what i just found.....Soma! yeay! 20 years have gone by since i first joined the band then called Oracle Mind. I used to drive 2 and a quarter hours to sheppy to rehearse with these guys, loved what they were doing as a hawkwind fan of years gone by i could see the creativity these guys had! Sadly all good things came to an end, three recordings and three euro tours later! Enjoyed my time with the guys. Now i have a recording studio in Swindon! yes Swindon! i know its full of roundabouts but it also has a wealth of talent too and so i devote my time bringing out the best in the musically creative side of Swindon. www.drivemusic.co.uk is the studio website and any of the soma clan can reach me though that link, Best wishes and love and peace to all soma dudes and all that enjoy the music we made! Philip Legende, Drummer.
Space rock legends-FACT
Iīve few regrets in life - least of about this LP. Thisīll definitely be the 6th online comment re this album. Love to all.
Sad to think that after all this time, one cannot be proud of oneīs music without bitter comments from ex band "friends". The personal review was written, not to big the band up, the music, or oneīs self, but to relay how I felt during the recording and 99% of my time with the band, and hope that if the recording was still available, that those thinking of purchasing it, may have some idea of what the music was all about. Sorry you feel this way Mr Kidney. I would have thought better of you. General F
Great band, good album. Where are you now, guys?
i failed to think of anything overly sentimental or anything ANYBODY would find of interest to say about recording this LP. itīs interesting to note the only comments about this recording are from those who recorded it - big up ourselves eh?
earth calling...
Review of dreamtime by soma. its the 9 of october 2002, and its good to see this album still for sale.it was a blast, being involved in the making of this album.it has some timeless music on it,and although i can honestly say, that we were not the most proficient musicians in the world.we made a great vibe,in the studio and live, and we had a genuine sound, with a mixture of psychedelia, ambient, and balls out rock music.if i could make this album again,of course i would change some of what is there, but i am proud of my imput on dreamtime.and i hope you enjoy listening to it as much as i enjoyed making it.Dreamtime..Space Rock, with a hint of Yes,The Ozrics,Hawkwind, etc.
One of the finest īnineties psych-rock albums made in Britain. A mixture of Ozrics and Hawkwind but with the bandīs inimitable sound. Mystical and wonderful.
scott - might be a mistake to do this but contact me at stevekidney@hotmail.co.uk - i havenīt met many people who are right in the head! rest assured scott - shit does happen (about 3 times each morning for me).
hope the rest of the soma lads are doing well,im still not right in the head, but shit happens
