Woronzow (Nick) said: And in the green corner we have Toronto´s very own Gadsby & Skol. We´ve been hyping this one up for ages, and now, at last, you can judge for yourselves. We met Rick Skol when we played in Toronto. He gave us a CD of his band, Gadsby & Skol. Apparently, they used to support all the visiting acts to Toronto back in the late 60s, but never got an album out. Since they were all still in touch, and relatively sane (they say), they decided to go into the studios to record their set from 30 years ago. And that´s what this CD is all about. Imagine a snotty three piece band obsessed with Blue Cheer, Cream, Third Power and er, Blue Cheer. Then imagine them somehow still sounding the same 30 years later. Still as loud, still as snotty, still as fresh, still as in your face. Unlikely? Yes, but miraculously true. Gadsby And Skol is an undiscovered masterpiece.
