Ade Shaw´s 5th solo record gives us 10 great tracks where one of them is the longest track he has ever recorded: 18 minutes of psychedelia and guitar fireworks with his friends from the Woronzow gang. All vocals and instruments are played by Ade himself and he uses quite many of them here. Even more interesting than his last album.
And here´s the new one from Ade. Once again, he turns up with a selection of excellent, literate and pretty deranged songs. In my ´umble opinion it´s the best thing he´s done yet. I think the quality of his writing has continued to supersede each previous album, while his vocals have magnified in confidence. The playing is, as usual, top class, with guest appearances from Bari Watts, Aaron Shaw, Tony Hill and yours truly. Ade is a pretty unassuming, modest guy, and I think this sometimes works against him, in that people often underestimate his talents. They all know he´s a brilliant bassist with an impressive CV, but he´s also a superb singer/songwriter, a great guitarist and an excellent keyboard player, as ´look Out´ bears out. Nick Saloman
