3rd album for September Gurls by Bavarian folk/ psych/space/improv duo. At the same time this is their first concept album. They start out with the playful exotic acid folk style they have come to known for, but it is more electric and enriched with pop harmonies. Then songs expand into cosmic folk and progressive artful space sounds, Incorporating Stefan Lienemannīs experience with his solo project Discolor. Finally Fit&Limo light out for a new territory. The 21-minutes hypnotic and mesmerizing opus magnus Upper And Lower Ginnistan, a free improvisation session exploring boundaries of their Sun Ra influences and 70 ts Kraurock Improvisation, marks a new phase of development and reaches places where space and time, ideology end religion are no longer relevant. Ginnistan is a magic and phantastic dreamland. Fit&Limo found their own Ginnistan in Monte Verita Switzerland, a place where anarchists, poets, artists and freethinkers lived in the 19th and early 20th century and later on gathering place of hippies in the 70īs.

Opener is a dreamy, meditative 12 minutes track called Owsley Blues. Multi layered soundcollages and a large variety of instruments from a church organ to the irish tin wistle give this record a great volume. For the 10 minutes long Glockenspiel (carillon) Limo plugs his electric guitar in and we go on a Grateful Dead like journey to space. Other tracks are really substantial folk with Mrs. Fitīs high and clear voice and Limo accoustic guitar and imaginary elves playing autoharp and sitar. Well mixed.

Expect folk, folk and folk. With Stone Breath out in the country.

sitar flecked, magic mushroom autumnal folk bliss for opium evenings under the stars. mystically inclined undertows with a pagan twist and a psychedelic flourish, this is timeless, harking back to i.s.b./pearls before swine territory but with a contemporary sheen. nice for late night smokinī .
Here they play more folk music and use a wide range of accoustic instruments. I like their songs for several voices. Their folky interpretation of Dark Star is just great! Here you feel, that their root go way back to the 60s Westcoast psychedelic rock. There are also german titles like Dreamdoor (Traumtür) which reveal their tendencies to complex dreamy aural fairy tales.

Double album release of "Angel Gopher", "This Moment" and "Autre Monde",for me an essential release, surely "three is a green rown" from "This Moment" and the "Autre Monde" album. F & L play a kind of living room Incredible String Band style.

The LP "Feather an Dust" is a bit more varied mix of early recordings (1983-1989), some of them (a 22 minute track) are more Shiny Gnomes style. "Feather and Dust" is one of my favorite songs of F&L.

Here they go straight forward to their folky future. Even though they do everything by themselves, the sound is always full. A bit of noise give it a certain psychedelic spice. Try to get this record, there are only 500 copies pressed.

Here Fit and Limo go back to their roots and play 4 songs of Incredible String Band. My favourite one is There is a Green Crown.

On this record Fit and Limo play with Ufo the drummer of Shiny Gnomes. So this is a more fuzz, drone, electronic rockband stuff than the later records. Some very recommendable tracks on it like Seven Rings, You live in a dream and the 18 minutes LIVE track Bed Peace. When you expect folky acoustic stuff, you might be disapointed, if not: buy it!

clear red vinyl
This record is the beginning of a long musical career. Itīs mostly rock stuff, more than you would expect from later records.
