Well... it IS the case when the more you listen - the more you like it. I thank the chance that brought this cd to Moscow. and still try to get the others:)
The long awaited third album of the german band from Hamburg is only 45 minutes, but it´s the best you can buy this year. A winning combination of Neil Young with Yo La Tengo. If you like fine guitarwork, you must get ist!
Late in 1994, while I was checking through cds in a Hamburg record shop (Michelle) I got more and more entranced by the music they played in the shop. The first thing that came up in my mind was, well, they´ve really studied their Hendrix and related psychedilic stuff. I bought that cd immediately (the first time ever in twenty-five years of records collecting) and I´ve heard it many times since. Their shorter tracks don´t really make it, but their lengthy instrumental excursions are a treat for long psychedelic dreams, out of which one is sadly awakened after only 53 minutes when the cd is over. What to do then? Well, put it on again, it´s worth a second and further listenings!! There´s only one thing that annoyed me. Music is made by people, but the three people who made Das Weeth Experience´s music were not mentioned on the sleeve. Hajo Benjamin
