If you have read the Borderline Books "Adrift In The Ether" review of the band.....I wrote it for the author, Chris, whoīs a friend of mine [I did a few of the other band reviews as well....] The final work has been heavily edited from my original essay. In preparing the review I was in direct contact with Victor Fitch of Vibrasonic [Who I must say was a totally decent bloke....] After speaking to him on the phone I sent him an extensive questionnaire and a blank tape. Not only did he do spoken interview on the tape but he must have spent HOURS doing it as he put loads of special analogue effects on his voice and included several tracks from the then as yet unrealeased Instrumental Vibrations....] So, themīs me credentials. Unfortunately the book was out before Instrumental Vibrations was released, therefore I never got to review it.... And, compared to their debut, thereīs really not all that much to say about it. Whereas "Vibrasonic" and the 45 singles were contemporary psychedelic masterpieces, "Instrumental Vibrations" is, in my humble estimation, not nearly as good. Where "Vibrasonic" drew on many sources for itīs inspiration, "Instrumental Vibrations" is pretty much a SURF album, indebted to the mighty Dick Dale and the "surf" sound in general, with the occasional sprinkling of eatern mysticism and 60s garage psychedelia. Thatīs not to say thereīs anything wrong with that......I love surf music! Itīs just that as a consequence the LP lacks the diversity of itīs older sibling. Mind you, there is still track 9, the B-Side to the Kingsley J single, which is IMMENSELY psychedelic! To be sure, the musicianship of Messrs. Fitch and Jones is outstanding as ever, and the LP is still infused with the analogue sound-effects and general trippy weirdness of their earlier work. Yet, whereas the songs on the first album were individually distinctive, itīs very easy to get lost in "Instrumental Vibrations" and whenever I listen to it I find myself being embalmed in it. [although being embalmed in warm aromatic oily sounds can be a pleasant sensation!] Again, this isnīt necessarily a bad thing....just about the right ingredients for a late night kick-back, and if you're a drug-user it will certainly provide a most appealing soundtrack to your experience! The last time I spoke to Victor Fitch he said that he wasnīt really doing much musically with Simon Jones as the latter was moving more and more in to the surf thing and away from psychedelia. This is unconfirmed, but there have been no more Vibrasonic releases since Instrumental Vibrations [that Iīm aware of] so I assume theyīve gone their seperate ways and are each doing their own thing.....which is a pity really, as the first three singles and debut LP were BRILLIANT [10 ot of 10] and "Instrumental Vibrations", whilst slightly the poorer of the 2 is still an excellent LP, well worth checking out and Iīd rate it at 8 out of 10.

This is one of the most psychedelic albums Iīve heard. And Iīve heard lots of them. Having been compiling my own psych compilation (The Enpsychlopedia: Or, Dr. Leary, Your Prescription Is Ready) for the past 4 or 5 years (itīs 9 cds long so far, and Iīm not even nearly half done with it yet), Iīm heavily into REAL psych, you know, the stuff that makes you see things BEFORE you take the drugs. These guys are the real thing: sound washing from speaker to speaker, sitars galore, wild sounds coming in from every which way, backwards tapes, the works. One side of the vinyl (yes, there is vinyl) has a locked groove. Iīve been waiting for years for these guys to finally release a second album. I guess Iīll have to go hunt it down now. I have all but the first single. Iīve never even seen or heard of it `til I got to this site minutes ago. Most of their singles are just as great if not better than the album. The Get Hip single is mostly "surf" music rather than psych. Itīs cool, but not quite what I was hoping for from them. As the albumīs on vinyl and the vinyl has just as many tracks as the cd, I canīt see how it can be 73 minutes long, as this site claims. I donīt remember what I clocked it as, but I think itīs just over 50 minutes. If you want to take a mind bending trip, just toss this slice of licorice pizza on your turntable, turn on some blacklights, light some incense and get ready to flip your Beatle wig. Peace!! Love!! Melt the guns now!! Arms were meant for hugging, not fighting!! I pledge allegiance to the Earth... Psychic hugs and kisses!! The Flower Beast

Robert Chambers of WOBBLE JAGGLE JIGGLE first introduced Me to this very modest duo of musicians. After hearing there very first single and some raw demos (in 1993) I realised the enormous musical potential of VIBRASONIC; it only needed a helping hand to materialize into something that would amaze a lot of people. With the indespensable help of WOBBLE JAGGLE JIGGLE an interview was arranged (in their kitchen!) with Simon and Vic. It turned out to be the very first interview VIBRASONIC had ever done (this was July 1993) but I bet it will not be their last one, once people discover their debut LP. I started the ever-faithful (but rather battered) stereo walkman and the following conversation was recorded for posterity:MM Hello VIBRASONIC and welcome to CROHINGA WELL. ( from CROHINGA WELL, #10, Belgium)
